measurable.energy tackling plug load power in commercial buildings

How measurable.energy and Energy Control AI are helping a boutique hotel tackle wasted energy, with an expected payback in just 6–7 months.

At the Boathouse Hotel in Hythe, cutting energy waste is becoming a smart business decision. Working with measurable.energy partner Energy Control AI, the hotel is installing smart sockets and fused spurs to monitor and control energy use across appliances including beer coolers, bottle fridges and electric radiators. The aim? To eliminate unnecessary energy consumption, reduce operating costs by several thousand pounds a year and achieve payback on the investment in just six to seven months.

In this behind-the-scenes video, measurable.energy's Chief Revenue Officer, Paul Callow, and Adrian Studd from Energy Control AI take us through the installation, showing just how straightforward it can be to introduce smarter energy management into a busy hospitality environment. With the installation completed in around four hours and minimal disruption to hotel staff and guests, the next step is to establish an energy baseline, identify opportunities to power down appliances when they're not needed, and start turning those insights into measurable savings.

Watch the video to see measurable.energy's smart socket technology in action, hear first-hand how the installation went, and discover how hotels and hospitality businesses can take control of their plug-in energy use without compromising day-to-day operations.
